Defense Corrosion Modeling Working Group

last person joined: 7 days ago

The Defense Corrosion Modeling Technical Community of Interest is a group of people (both AMPP members and nonmembers) who have come together for the purpose of furthering a common cause by sharing wisdom, knowledge, information and/or data related to corrosion modeling for the aerospace defense industry. This group will identify the state-of-the-art in corrosion modeling, simulation, and data analytics and discuss the current gaps and needs in data and methodology.

    All

We have set up a short (5 question) survey to gauge the needs and requirements for corrosion modeling in the DoD and OEM community. I am sending out the following to all the people I can think of who might be interested in responding. You are welcome to send it out to anyone you know of who might be interested in responding (and fill it out yourselves as well, of course):

There are a number of DoD efforts to develop corrosion modeling and prediction methods to minimize corrosion in design and sustainment. SERDP-ESTCP and NAVAIR have formed a Working Group to create a Roadmap to help guide the development and funding of practical corrosion prediction methods and software. To gain better insight into the needs and requirements for corrosion modeling in the DoD and OEM community we have put together a very short summary of our effort and half a dozen questions at the following location:

We would appreciate any input you can provide. The survey is designed to take no more than about 5 minutes of your time to answer the questions and add any additional thoughts or comments you might have. The Roadmap will be presented and discussed at the ASETSDefense Workshop in San Diego in August (see link below):
