The Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Community of Interest is a group of people (both AMPP members and nonmembers) assembled for the aim of investigating phase behavior, corrosion mechanisms and rates, and materials selection in CO2 separation, transport, and storage. The community aims to share experimental and experiential data, best practices, and recommendations for standards to further the safe development of CCS projects and assets globally.

    Dear Joiners of SC 26,

Welcome to join this new SC! It's been great to see the response to the committee and so many people joining.

It is my privilege to let you all know that I have been requested to be the Chair of this SC.  Jordanna Bucciere will be working with the other committee chairs to move existing document projects into SC 26.

Since one of the focus areas is carbon capture, I am happy to announce that Guide 21532 "Guideline for Materials Selection and Corrosion Control for CO2 Transport and Injection" has now been published!

This one as well as some other initiatives are currently identified to become part of this SC with a strong focus on the Energy Transition. Since the focus of us will be on this new field, with challenges that are less common, we aim to start with projects that provide guidance and insight on the most relevant items for Materials Selection and Corrosion control like the abovementioned guide for CCS including identification useful references as well as gaps on what is available.
We welcome your Ideas, initiatives and help, to develop and maintain a healthy selection of documents that can guide our Industry through this challenging time.

    Kind regards,

    Hans Sonke
