At this year’s fly-in, we will be advocating for key priorities across our core sectors:

Maritime & Shipbuilding

Maritime

Supporting the SHIPS Act and increased funding for the Department of Defense Corrosion Policy & Oversight (CPO) directly strengthens our industry by driving investment in corrosion control across naval assets. This leads to increased demand for certified professionals, coatings, and inspection services, while reinforcing the use of industry standards in federal contracts. The result is more opportunity for our members and stronger positioning within defense-related markets.

Energy & Utilities

Energy

As reconductoring accelerates under the REWIRE Act, it introduces new challenges for pipeline infrastructure, particularly where electrical transmission and pipelines share the same right-of-way. These changes can create interference risks for cathodic protection systems, making collaboration and technical expertise more critical than ever. The PIPES Act further reinforces the need for strong safety and integrity management. Our members play a key role in addressing these challenges, ensuring grid modernization and pipeline safety advance together.

Civil & Critical Infrastructure

Civil Infrastructure

Advancing corrosion standards within the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) and supporting the Surface Transportation Reauthorization Package strengthens the resilience of critical infrastructure systems. These efforts promote the adoption of modern corrosion prevention practices and lifecycle asset management, increasing demand for qualified professionals, coatings, and inspection services across the sector.

These priorities reflect the real-world challenges and opportunities facing our industry and reinforce the importance of a unified voice on Capitol Hill.
