AMPP Nonmetallics Conference 2023

AMPP Nonmetallics

AMPP Nonmetallics Conference 2023

Explore the advancements in technology and potential applications of nonmetallics as a resource for combating corrosion

The topic of nonmetallics has gained significant attention in the Middle East, with major oil and gas as well as petrochemical companies focusing their efforts on it. This cost-effective solution has gained momentum in recent years due to its ability to mitigate corrosion, increase lifecycle, and improve energy efficiency in these industries. To maintain this momentum and build upon the success of the first Nonmetallics Conference in 2018, it is important to continue raising awareness about recent advancements and best practices for the operation and maintenance of nonmetallic products.

Call for abstracts

We are currently looking for abstracts and presentations on the following topics:

Integrity Management and Remaining Life Assessment of Nonmetallic Materials

Chair: Rama Ramanahalli, PDO
This track is looking for abstracts on integrity management, inspection technologies, assessment of inspection results and estimation of remaining life for nonmetallic piping, pipelines and equipment. This abstract can be related to determination of inspection frequency, inspection techniques applied, IOW monitoring, estimating the remaining life, case histories related to GRP piping, HDPE pipes and HDPE lined lines and LLRTP pipes.

Submit abstract

Inspection, NDT and Repair on Nonmetallic Materials

Chair: Yahyah Al-Bulushi, OQ
This track will cover the applicable nondestructive testing and repair of non-metallics. It will shed the light on the advance technologies related to inspection and repair of non-metallic. It will also high the limitation and challenges in inspecting non-metallics.

Submit abstract

Advancement in the Materials and Use of Nonmetallic in High-Pressure and High-Temperature Applications

Chair: Mohammed Al-Abri, Sultan Qaboos University
This track covers advances in nonmetallic (polymers and composites) materials applications in oil and gas fields. Topics covered include the enhancement of the nonmetallic materials' mechanical strength, microstructural stability, and corrosion resistance to improve the materials' durability, chemical, mechanical and thermal strength, and lifetime or reduce the materials' failure, weight, and cost in high-pressure and high-temperature applications.

Submit abstract

Environmental Degradation of Nonmetallics: Mechanisms & Durability

Chair: Abderrazak Traidia, Saudi Aramco
This track will cover environmental degradation of polymers and composites in oil & gas service and emerging applications (e.g., Hydrogen, CCUS). Proposed abstracts will focus on advancing understanding of the damage mechanisms, novel characterization techniques & testing methodologies and recent advancements in polymer & composite technology to accelerate penetration of non-metallics in new applications.

Submit abstract

Nonmetallic Systems Design and Construction

Chair: Prakash Kumar, CPI
This Track will cover nonmetallic product  design in line with International Standard and manufacturer recommendation, system design using different FEA software and best engineering practice &  installation methodology during site construction. Applicable for piping, pipelines, equipment, vessels, tanks, and factors affecting the design to optimize the cost.

Submit abstract

Composite Repairs

Chair: Abdulelah Mehlisi, Oil Sustainability Program
This track will cover the topics on the composite materials used for temporary and permanent type of repairs on the piping and pipelines suffered with integrity or mechanical damages. Online Composite repairs design, qualification, application, case histories specific to pipeline (both subsea and surface), flow lines, piping and equipment in oil and gas and other similar assets.
