AMPP Craftmanship Award
This award recognizes individuals who exhibit excellence and professionalism in their craft through natural talent, passion, dedication, discipline, and determination to deliver a superior product. No level of formal education is required for a candidate for this award. This award honors top-tier hands-on shop, field, and/or lab practitioners, the individuals who apply existing technologies and practices to produce the end product. This involves (1) knowledge and expertise in the set-up, operation, and maintenance of required tools and equipment; (2) ability to diagnose and adapt to unexpected challenges that arise during the execution of their work; (3) quality, safety, and efficiency are all #1 priority, and constantly looking for improvement in these areas; (4) if applicable, works well with and encourages constructive input from other members of a team. This award includes all AMPP related technologies, including but not limited to :
- corrosion monitoring, mitigation, and control systems;
- inspection, field and lab testing, and evaluation activities, such as failure analysis;
- corrosion inhibitor data collection and analysis;
- coating application and inspection;
- cathodic protection surveying, troubleshooting, and installations;
- destructive testing inspectors, etc.
- any other hands-on activity in the general area of materials, protection, and performance.
Team leaders are also eligible for this award, so long as they demonstrate the traits listed above for individuals.
