Dr. Ameeq Farooq

Dr. Ameeq Farooq

Assistant Professor
University of the Punjab, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan  

Dr. Ameeq Farooq is an Assistant Professor at the University of the Punjab in Lahore, Pakistan, where he leads the Corrosion Control Research Cell at the Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering. With more than 15 years of professional experience, his work spans academia, industry collaboration, and applied research in corrosion engineering, coatings, cathodic protection, electrochemistry, nanomaterials, and surface modification.

Dr. Farooq has led and contributed to multiple industry-funded projects, including the successful execution of a national initiative on mitigating internal corrosion of steel pipelines caused by CO₂, H₂S, and bacteria in collaboration with Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited. For his service to the corrosion community, he received the NACE International Distinguished Service Award in 2021.

An AMPP member since 2016, Dr. Farooq has served in several leadership roles, including Section Membership Activity Chair, Section Secretary, and currently Vice Chair. Through his long-standing engagement with AMPP and strong connections across academia and industry, he is uniquely positioned to bridge theory and practice. As an AMPP Ambassador, he is committed to advancing education, certification, and professional development to strengthen corrosion control capabilities across Pakistan and the region.


Carlos Roberto Cordova

Carlos Roberto Córdova 

Asset Integrity Engineer
MM Contratistas, Trujillo, Peru 

Carlos Roberto Córdova is a licensed professional Mechanical Engineer and Asset Integrity Engineer with MM Contratistas, based in Trujillo, northern Peru. He leads asset integrity and corrosion services, including regulatory compliance projects supporting oil and gas exploration, production, and transportation activities.

Carlos combines technical expertise with project management skills to deliver high-quality outcomes in mechanical integrity and corrosion control while driving efficiency and collaboration across stakeholders. He presented research at the AMPP LatinCORR + Panamerican Corrosion Conference in July 2025 and at the AMPP Peru Three-Day Corrosion Show in August 2025. He is also preparing a national research proposal focused on external corrosion of steel fixed offshore structures.

He participates in the Asset Integrity Subcommittee of the Center for Offshore Safety (USA) and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of professionals to support the long-term reliability and sustainability of critical assets.


Brian Cheshire

Brian Cheshire

Sales Director for Water and Wastewater at Henkel Corporation

Brian Cheshire is the Sales Director for Water and Wastewater at Seal for Life, a division of Henkel, and a recognized leader in protective coatings for municipal infrastructure. With more than 20 years of experience in sales leadership, market strategy, and technical consulting, he has held senior roles at Tnemec Company and Carboline, where he led national water and wastewater initiatives and supported large technical sales organizations.

Brian is an AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector and an AMPP Concrete Coatings Inspector Level 2. He is actively involved in industry leadership through service on multiple AMPP committees and other organizations focused on infrastructure protection and standards development. He holds an MBA from Auburn University and is a frequent author and presenter on corrosion protection strategies for water and wastewater assets.


George Joseph

George Joseph

George Joseph is an AMPP Corrosion Specialist, Protective Coating Specialist, and Senior Coating Inspector based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. He serves as a Senior Mechanical and Coating Inspection Engineer for the Saudi Aramco Project Inspection Department, supporting major upstream projects and advancing best practices in corrosion control, protective coatings, and mechanical integrity.

With more than a decade of industry experience, George has contributed to Saudi Aramco technical standards, co-authored inspection handbooks, and led multiple innovation initiatives that were elevated to formal engineering reports. He holds a wide range of international qualifications in inspection and asset integrity, reflecting his broad technical expertise.

George is actively engaged with AMPP as a standard-setting content contributor, Joint Technical Authority panelist, and member of several AMPP communities and committees. As an AMPP Ambassador, he is committed to strengthening collaboration, supporting standards development, and advancing innovative materials protection practices worldwide.


Craig Botha

Craig Botha

Craig Botha is a metallurgical engineer and the CEO of Reignite (Pty) Ltd in South Africa, as well as a co-founder of Radiant Apex Specialist Consultants in Dubai. With more than 30 years of experience, he has delivered major cathodic protection, AC/DC interference, and corrosion-mitigation projects across Africa, the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia. His work includes extensive field and modeling assignments for organizations such as Saudi Aramco, Kuwait Oil Company, GAIL India, SAPREF, SASOL Gas, and eThekwini Water.

Over the course of his career, Craig has trained more than 3,000 professionals worldwide in cathodic protection, corrosion engineering, coatings, and asset integrity. He has authored and presented numerous technical papers, field studies, and book chapters, with a strong focus on AC-induced corrosion, coating performance, and advanced modeling aligned with ISO and AMPP standards. His recent work also explores the integration of AI and machine learning into modern corrosion-risk assessment and cathodic protection analytics.

An active AMPP member for many years, Craig contributes to global knowledge transfer through training programs, chapter involvement, and international industry events. He will join the AMPP Board of Directors for the 2026–2028 term, where he aims to strengthen technical competency, collaboration, and excellence across emerging regions. Beyond engineering, he is deeply committed to mentoring young professionals and exploring the intersection of technical mastery and human potential.


Harsh Zala

Harsh Zala 

Materials & Corrosion Engineer
Wood PLC India 

Harsh Zala is a Materials and Corrosion Engineer at Wood PLC India, supporting Houston-based operations and global oil and gas clients. He holds dual degrees in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering and Data Science, and he regularly integrates AI and machine-learning tools into mechanical integrity workflows to improve corrosion monitoring and inspection planning while reducing downtime for major operators.

With more than three years of hands-on experience across manufacturing, consulting, and research laboratories, Harsh has supported oil and gas assets in both India and the United States. His work includes asset protection strategy, equipment lifecycle planning, corrosion monitoring and inspection programs, root-cause failure analysis, and implementation of IDMS software, all aligned with ASTM, API, and AMPP standards. He specializes in risk-based inspection and mechanical integrity with a strong focus on research and development.

Harsh has been actively involved with AMPP for more than five years. He was a founding member of the AMPP student chapter in Gujarat, served two years as the youngest Secretary of the AMPP India Chapter, and participated on the organizing committee for CORCON 2023 and 2024. He currently serves on the AMPP Gujarat Executive Committee and has contributed to standards work, including revision efforts related to ethanol stress corrosion cracking in carbon steel. In recognition of his service, he received the Elaine Bowman Distinguished Service Award. As an AMPP Ambassador, he is committed to advancing data-driven solutions and supporting early-career professionals in the corrosion industry.


Jeremi Day

Jeremi R. Day Sr.

Jeremi R. Day Sr., PCS, has spent a lifetime in the protective coatings and corrosion control industry, having grown up on job sites under the mentorship of his father and grandfather, both veterans of industrial blasting and coatings. He began formal field work at a young age and completed refinery safety training on his 18th birthday to join a coatings maintenance crew.

Jeremi progressed rapidly from crew member to team leader and management roles, earning his initial NACE CIP Level 1 certification through industry sponsorship and later self-funding CIP Levels 2 and 3. He achieved peer-reviewed CIP Level 3 certification before age 30, making him one of the youngest professionals at the time to reach that milestone.

Today, Jeremi is a recognized industry leader, educator, and business owner. He owns a consulting firm, serves as President of CCI Inspection Services, manages coatings operations for Tarsco (a TF Warren Group company), and is part of the ownership group behind Corrosion Innovations, the manufacturer of Chlor*Rid, HoldTight, and Corr-Ze. As an AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector and approved instructor, he teaches multiple AMPP flagship programs. As an AMPP Ambassador, he is honored to share decades of hands-on experience in support of coatings and corrosion excellence worldwide.


Paola Andrea Postigo Rojas

Paola Andrea Postigo Rojas

Cathodic Protection Engineer | NaTran
Oies/Compiègne, France

Paola Andrea Postigo Rojas is a Bolivian engineer specializing in cathodic protection and currently works at NaTran within the Cathodic Protection Expertise Department.

With more than 10 years of experience in corrosion engineering, Paola has worked across coatings, integrity, and cathodic protection for buried structures. Her technical background includes extensive field experience performing DCVG, CIPS, and other field measurements. In her current role, she focuses on design and field measurements, with particular expertise in AC and DC interference projects and complex structures.

She began her AMPP certification journey in 2018 and has earned CP1, CP2, and CIP1 certifications. She is currently preparing for CP3, CP4, and the Corrosion Technologist certification, and also holds ISO CP3-Land certification in cathodic protection.

Actively engaged in the AMPP community, Paola previously served as Chair of the Bolivia AMPP Chapter and currently serves as a Delegate for the French AMPP Chapter. She will also be a presenter at the AMPP Conference + Expo 2026, participating in the session “Reinvention, Reentry & Retention.”

As an AMPP Ambassador, her goal is to support education, training, and professional development for students and early-career professionals in corrosion prevention, while helping guide others through the certification process.

Her personal motto is: "We can only prevent corrosion by learning about it and sharing information so we can move forward together."

Outside of her professional work in cathodic protection, she enjoys playing the mandolin and tennis.


Dr. Vijesh Vijayan

Dr. Vijesh Vijayan, PhD, NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist

Dr. Vijesh Vijayan is a corrosion and coatings specialist with more than 15 years of experience in marine protective coatings, tank linings, fireproofing, thermal spray applications, pipeline coatings, and asset integrity management. He serves as Managing Director of The Anti Corrosion Experts FZ LLC in Dubai, where he oversees coating inspection, corrosion mitigation programs, and long-term protection strategies across marine, onshore, offshore, dry-docking, and industrial environments.

He has led major coating and corrosion projects in collaboration with shipyards, EPC contractors, coating manufacturers, and classification societies. His expertise includes dry-docking supervision, TSA, pipeline coatings, intumescent fireproofing, coating specification development, QA/QC inspection, and comprehensive failure investigations in line with international standards. Dr. Vijayan has published more than a dozen peer-reviewed papers on coating performance, corrosion mechanisms, and material compatibility, and he regularly contributes case studies and root-cause analyses to industry best practices.

Actively involved with AMPP, Dr. Vijayan presents at conferences and supports technical dialogue across the global community. As an AMPP Ambassador, he is committed to mentoring emerging professionals and advancing sustainable, high-performance coating solutions that improve durability and reduce long-term maintenance costs.


Mohammed Hadi Abd Noor

Mohammed Hadi Abd Noor

Mohammed Hadi Abd Noor has more than 12 years of experience in corrosion control, cathodic protection, coating inspection, and materials selection for critical piping and equipment in oil and gas operations. His work focuses on asset integrity and practical mitigation strategies across upstream facilities, with an emphasis on improving operational reliability.

He has led integrity-based initiatives involving corrosion monitoring, coating rehabilitation, and risk-based mitigation programs. Mohammed holds AMPP CP-2 certification, API 570 Authorized Piping Inspector certification, and FBE Application and Inspection Level 1 certification. He has also conducted extensive research evaluating corrosion inhibitor effectiveness to support sustainable and cost-efficient protection strategies.

Mohammed is actively engaged with AMPP and has contributed to technical initiatives, including participation in the Fusion Bonded Epoxy Item Writing Workshop. As an AMPP Ambassador, he aims to strengthen global knowledge sharing, promote best practices, and advance corrosion prevention through practical, research-driven solutions that enhance safety, reliability, and sustainability.


Syed Wajahat Hussain

Syed Wajahat Hussain

Senior Pipeline Integrity Engineer
ATCO Gas, Australia, WA 

Syed Wajahat Hussain is a Senior Pipeline Integrity Engineer at ATCO Gas in Western Australia, with more than 15 years of experience in corrosion control, asset management, cathodic protection, and pipeline integrity within the oil and gas sector. He holds a Master’s degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science and is certified as an AMPP Cathodic Protection Technologist (CP3), as well as holding a MICorr credential from the Institute of Corrosion in the United Kingdom.

His expertise includes cathodic protection system design, coating inspection performance, stress corrosion cracking, and AC corrosion mitigation for pipelines, tanks, and concrete infrastructure. He is actively involved in asset lifecycle management, including inline inspection, fitness-for-purpose assessments, and risk-based decision making.

An engaged AMPP member, Syed earned his CP2 and CP3 certifications in Australia and actively participates in the AMPP Australia Chapter through conferences, webinars, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. He is passionate about promoting corrosion awareness and professional engagement through interactive platforms and global professional networks.


Dr. Raghu Srinivasan

Dr. Raghu Srinivasan

Associate Professor and Department Chair, Mechanical Engineering
University of Alaska Anchorage - Anchorage, Alaska, USA

Dr. Raghu Srinivasan is an Associate Professor and Department Chair of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alaska Anchorage. He established the Environmental Degradation Laboratory, where he conducts corrosion research focused on atmospheric and marine environments, materials compatibility, oil and gas corrosion, and cold-region applications, with particular emphasis on Arctic and sub-Arctic conditions.

Dr. Srinivasan teaches courses in materials science, corrosion engineering, materials selection, and manufacturing processes. He is also a leader in STEM outreach and founded the Inclusive Corrosion Camp, a summer program for middle school students. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical and Electrochemical Engineering from the Central Electrochemical Research Institute in India.

He has secured more than $1.5 million in research funding from organizations including NASA, PHMSA, ConocoPhillips, and NACE. His innovative corrosion test-rack design has earned multiple Materials Performance Innovation Awards and a UAA Chancellor’s Award for Research, and he holds a patent for his field exposure rack system. Dr. Srinivasan currently serves as Chair of the AMPP Research Society Leadership Council and Vice-Chair of the Research Program Committee. As an AMPP Ambassador, he is committed to advancing collaboration between research, industry, and education worldwide.


M.Sc. Juan Pablo Bohórquez Rico

Cathodic Protection Engineer CP2
Penspen – Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico 

Juan Pablo Bohórquez Rico is a Metallurgical Engineer with a Master’s degree in Corrosion Engineering and a Ph.D. candidate in Engineering Sciences. Originally from Colombia, he has been based in Mexico since 2022 and currently serves as a Level 2 Cathodic Protection Engineer at Penspen Mexico in Villahermosa, Tabasco.

In his role, Juan Pablo supports the integrity, reliability, and operational assurance of hydrocarbon transportation systems, including large-diameter gas and multiproduct pipelines. His technical expertise includes DCVG, CIS, soil resistivity testing, bacteriological analysis, pH measurement, corrosion coupons, AC interference assessment, and transformer-rectifier maintenance. He also holds Level 2 certifications in non-destructive testing, including VT, UT, MT, and PT.

Juan Pablo has more than five years of experience in NDT, mechanical integrity, internal and external corrosion, electrochemical techniques, cathodic protection, and coatings. He has been actively involved with AMPP since 2022, serving as Vice President and later President of the AMPP Southeast Central Mexico Student Section. He has also presented at AMPP international conferences in the United States. Passionate about bridging industry and research, he believes that strong scientific foundations are essential to sustainable industrial and national development.


Washington Nyoni

Senior Corrosion Engineer
Corrosion Control Engineering, Australia

Washington Nyoni is a Chartered Engineer with more than 20 years of experience in corrosion control, asset management, and electrical engineering. He currently serves as a Senior Corrosion Engineer at Corrosion Control Engineering in Australia and is an active committee member of the AMPP Australian Chapter. He also contributes globally to the AMPP Cathodic Protection Exam Development team.

His professional experience spans the Middle East, Africa, and Australia, with a focus on the design, installation, commissioning, monitoring, and optimization of cathodic protection systems. Washington holds multiple AMPP certifications, including Corrosion Specialist and Cathodic Protection Specialist (CP Level 4), and is a Fellow of the Institute of Corrosion.

In addition to his industry work, Washington lectures on cathodic protection for the Australasian Corrosion Association and serves as an AMPP Cathodic Protection Instructor. He is passionate about advancing corrosion engineering practices and mentoring the next generation of professionals in the field.


Mani Karuppiah

Technical & Operations Manager – Middle East Industrial Coatings

Mani Karuppiah serves as Technical and Operations Manager for Middle East Industrial Coatings at PPG Industries, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He leads technical support for Architectural Metal Coatings and HTLF (Xylan Coatings) across the Middle East, specializing in advanced coating technologies and materials protection solutions.

With more than 17 years of experience in the coatings industry, Mani has worked across architectural and metal coatings, automotive OEM and refinish, general industrial, and oil and gas sectors. His career spans roles in quality control, technical services, production, research and development, training and development, and operations management. He holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry, a Postgraduate Diploma in Paint and Coating Technology, and multiple professional certifications, including AMPP Coatings Inspector Level II.

An active member of the AMPP UAE Chapter, Mani regularly participates in technical seminars and industry events. As an AMPP Ambassador, he is committed to promoting knowledge sharing, best practices, and collaboration within the global corrosion and coatings community. He is particularly passionate about innovation and sustainability as drivers of the future of materials protection.

The AMPP Ambassador Program is designed to expand global awareness of AMPP, its mission, and its role as the leader in corrosion control, protective coatings, and materials protection. Ambassadors serve as advocates, promoting the value of AMPP membership, fostering connections within their regions, and helping drive innovation through outreach, education, and social media initiatives. This program empowers passionate members to share their personal stories and AMPP’s impact, fostering deeper engagement with the global community.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for the AMPP Ambassador Program, applicants must:

  • Be an active AMPP member in good standing.
  • Demonstrate a passion for AMPP’s mission and values.
  • Show a history of involvement in AMPP-related activities or advocacy within their regions or industries.
  • Have an active presence on social media or in regional professional communities.
  • Be committed to advancing corrosion control, materials protection, and asset preservation.

Expectations

As an AMPP Ambassador, you will be expected to:
